Eastern University was established in 2003 and operated for years out of a Dhanmondi 27 location before moving to its permanent purpose-built campus on the Ashulia road in Savar. The relocation reshaped the institution: from a vertical academic block in central Dhaka to a multi-block campus with dedicated faculty buildings, sports facilities, and student housing options.
The Ashulia Campus
The permanent campus is on Ashulia–Savar Bypass, accessible by both DSCC and student bus routes. Like other Ashulia-area campuses (DIU, IUBAT's affiliated programs), the trade-off is geographic — the location buys space and amenities, but daily commuting from central Dhaka is meaningful.For applicants from the Savar–Ashulia corridor, the relocation made Eastern University one of the most convenient private options. For students from central and south Dhaka, it added travel time.
Programs
- LLB: Eastern University's strongest non-business program. The four-year undergraduate Law program has a long-standing reputation in private Bangladesh, with graduates entering bar council apprenticeship and corporate legal practice.
- English: Solid literature-focused program.
- BBA: Largest enrolment program.
- CSE, EEE: Mid-size engineering programs.
- Civil Engineering: Newer program growing in size.
- B.Pharm (5 years): Pharmacy program with industry placement.

Admission Test
- Three intakes per year.
- Written test: English, Math, and a subject-specific section.
- LLB applicants additionally take a short written essay.
- Direct admission for HSC Golden A+ holders meeting subject minimums.
Eligibility
- LLB: Any HSC background, combined GPA 6.50, HSC English minimum B.
- CSE / EEE / Civil: HSC Science with Math, combined GPA 7.00.
- B.Pharm: HSC Science with Biology, combined GPA 7.50.
- BBA / English / Economics: Combined GPA 6.00.
Cost
- LLB: 4,50,000 – 6,00,000 BDT total.
- English / Economics / BBA: 4,00,000 – 5,50,000 BDT.
- CSE / EEE / Civil: 6,00,000 – 7,50,000 BDT.
- B.Pharm (5 years): 9,00,000 – 11,00,000 BDT.
